July 29, 1965…The Beatles' second movie, "Help!," premiered in London with Queen Elizabeth II in attendance. The film had its North American premiere in New York on August 11 and went into wide release August 25. Critics didn't like the movie as much as "A Hard Day's Night" and John Lennon commented that "the best stuff is on the cutting room floor." Later the film earned first prize at the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival in Brazil.
