Don't Underestimate the Power of Water

We've all heard the saying, "Turn around, don't drown" when it comes to driving through water covered roads. Unfortunately, we've seen this warning go unheeded far too many times - resulting in nearly half of flood-related deaths in the U.S.

And with the recent flooding in South Carolina and this weekend's flooding risk in the Midwest, we wanted to take a moment to share the following information on flooding:

All 50 states have experienced flooding.

A car can float in 2 feet of water and can be completely swept away in just 1 feet of swift moving water.

You may not know the depth of the water or the condition of the ground under the water. Road beds may be washed out under flood waters.

Never underestimate the force and power of water.
